Let’s begin with the beginning!


In my last article, I have mentioned briefly about projects. To understand the project management better, we first need to be very clear about projects. According to PMBOK (Project Management Book of Knowledge) a project is a temporary endeavor which is undertaken to create a unique product service or result. Temporary means that the project has a definite start and end date. The end is reached when the project’s objective has been achieved. A project can be as short as one month or can also last for years. We usually prefer not to called very short duration tasks as projects because you might not be able to perform all the nitty gritty of project management. And these tasks might be so repetitive that it might be considered in Operations. Let’s try to make it visual:
