My name is Dan Strickland. I’m a Chicago native (born and college educated) who currently resides in Portland, Oregon. I am a creative yet analytical professional with over eight years experience building and managing successful digital strategies and deploying marketing tactics that improve online ad campaigns, conversion rates, page content, digital media optimization including brand value and awareness, for both b2b and b2c companies. In the early 2000s (and during 9/11), I lived and worked in New York City. While there, I was a graduate visiting scholar (researcher) at NYU School of Professional Studies and finally, a graduate news production intern at several respectable media outlets, from MTV News and NY1 News to MTA NYC “Transit Transit” News Magazine for NYC Channel 25 (yup, fun times)!
Fast forward, I have helped organizations to successfully produce and leverage digital marketing and e-commerce platforms (HP, Aeropostale and Tektronix) to acquire, engage and connect new prospects to their brands and services while boosting top-line sales. In 2018, at my previous role, I was Digital Marketing Manager at HSI, Health & Safety Institute, Inc., (a family of brands that delivers content, tools and expertise to improve safety, health and compliance for B2B and B2C customers). While there, I oversaw and managed marketing and website vendors while supporting brand management and sales leadership to improve campaign effectiveness (PPC); increase web visitors, organic leads (SEO) and brand awareness across eight branded websites. I also helped to improve analytics reporting and data segmentation including persona and journey mapping; marketing funnel creation while assisting with internal lead definitions (MQLs – Win’s) from lead mapping to sales handoff .
When I’m not on the job, I value time with my family and friends including traveling to new places, meeting new people or simply exploring the outdoors with my dog.
